one big gamble |
I don't know about other careers available in architecture but studying architecture in order to become an architect (on the RIBA approved courses) is a huge gamble that rarely pays off. You can read about my own experiences at architecture school and how it led to very poorly paid employment and latterly unemployment in my book, BRICK WALL.
The message I am getting loud and clear from practicing architects (the lucky 18% who made it through to the end) is that pursuing a career in architecture is to avoided at all cost unless you are independently wealthy before starting out; otherwise, the odds are stacked against you and it's a gamble that is unlikely to pay off.
